As we are half way through January, it seems like the perfect time to talk about all the plans, hopes and dreams I have for my business for 2020 and reflect on all the great achievements of 2019.
I don’t tend to make too many personal resolutions as I am a firm believer in not knowing what’s around the corner and what life has in store for you, so my personal life tends to be a bit more ‘go with the flow’. But when it comes to business goals, I like to have a clear idea of where I am heading and a dedicated plan of how I am going to get there.
With the launch of Hannah Adams photography last month, I set up a whole other identity away from the Serenity brand that both myself and my husband set up some years ago. Serenity will always be my first love and our baby. But as our family grew, I realised the importance of documenting the everyday and capturing those fleeting moments that are gone in the blink of an eye. I love that I can be the person to capture those special moments in your family’s history book.
Our children started school this year and as the new year approached, I wanted the work life balance to be well, more balanced! So that is something I am striving to work towards; combining both my love of weddings with Serenity and my passion for documenting family life with Hannah Adams photography, the future seems rosy.
I have been mulling over the idea of creating family film for some time. I love the home videos we have of our children. There really is something so special about seeing those images come to life. To hear the way our children laugh and the way they say their first words. This is not something that is very mainstream and not a lot of people are doing it so who knows if it will even take off. But this year I am going to concentrate on carving out some time dedicated to perfecting my filming skills (may have to take a few tips from the hubby!) and honing in on the craft that is video to really be able to offer my clients something more and capture those ordinary days in our lives that we truly cherish the most once they’re gone. To have that snapshot in time that can be revisited again and again.
I have had the opportunity to film some of my clients this year (see below). Please go and take a look and give me your feedback. Is this something you would consider? Would you find it valuable to your family?
I think that brings my goals for 2020 to an end before I get ahead of myself. Thank you for supporting my little business. Every booking comment or kind word really means the world to me and my family so here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous new year to you all!
